Beskrivelse: The Finnish Association of People with Physical Disabilities celebrates its 20th anniversary; exhibition at the health and safety museum (Sosiaalimuseo) in Helsinki. Finland’s largest photograph being prepared at the Exhibition Hall to be sent to the Brussels World’s Fair. The Finland–Soviet Union Society is founded in Moscow, the founding meeting being held in the banquet hall of the Soviet cultural exchange organisation VOKS (foreign material). ‘Finland Builds,’ second Finnish Architecture exhibition at Kunsthalle Helsinki. Eero Saarinen exhibition at Kunsthalle Helsinki. Wild ducks wintering in Finland are fed at the Market Square. Disappearing Helsinki: the Helsinki City Public Works Department building and a school house at the corner of Uudenmaankatu and Albertinkatu are demolished. The vessel Keihässalmi is handed over to the Defence Forces. Barrel jumping in New York (foreign material).
